Online Community Rules and Etiquette

Thank you for being part of the EnglishUSA online community. To ensure the best possible experience for all of our community members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation.

By participating in the EnglishUSA branded forums, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines. If you have questions about these guidelines or the tools themselves, contact

In order to preserve a climate that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, EnglishUSA reserves the right to delete posts or terminate participation in forums for members who violate these rules.

The Rules

  • Don’t attack others. The discussions on the community platforms are meant to stimulate conversation not to foster contention. Let others have their say, just as you may.
  • All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited and may be removed.
  • Send your message only to the most appropriate group and refrain from sending the same message to multiple groups.
  • Do not post anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
  • Please note carefully all items listed in the disclaimer and legal rules below, particularly regarding the copyright ownership of information posted to the Forums.
  • Remember that EnglishUSA and other participants have the right to reproduce and/or forward postings.
  • EnglishUSA Associates are members of the Open Member Forum and are allowed to post a message promoting their product or services once a month (send message to  They are also welcome to unlimited postings on the Products & Services Forum. Associates are encouraged to contact member programs directly with product and service information if you believe it would help them.

Forum/Community Etiquette

  • Be courteous.
  • Include a signature tag on all messages with your name, affiliation, location and email address (you can create a signature on your Forum subscriptions).
  • State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line.  This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and enables members to search the archives by subject.
  • Send messages such as “Thanks for the information” and “Me, too” to individuals—not to the entire forum.
