Comprehensive Programmatic Review and Revision: Moving beyond the curriculum

Curriculum is often closely connected to teaching schedules and program structure, which can make changes to curriculum challenging, even when there is a clear pedagogical need. This presentation describes a curriculum review model that accounts for these connections, as well as findings from research on curricular practices in IEPs nationwide. We will share how we went about revamping our IEP curriculum, taking into consideration all the other aspects that influenced the questions we asked and that impacted the decisions we made.

Objectives:  By the end of this webinar, participants can expect to:

1. determine the different ways in which stakeholders are affected by curricular change

2. become familiar with several methods of incorporating the needs of stakeholders into curricular decision-making

3. be able to address their own constituents' needs through a comprehensive curricular change process
