What is the recent announcement?

EnglishUSA has announced that Executive Director, Cheryl Delk-Le Good, will retire from her role at the end of this calendar year.

 

When will this transition take place?

Cheryl will continue in her role through the end of the year. This timeline allows for the Board to carry out a well-planned and thoughtful leadership transition.   

 

Why is this transition happening now?

Cheryl’s retirement is a moment to celebrate.   And her decision to make this announcement now reflects thoughtful timing and allows EnglishUSA to plan proactively for the future while maintaining stability and continuity.

 

What does this mean for EnglishUSA members?

There will be no disruption to member services, programs, or engagement opportunities. EnglishUSA remains fully committed to supporting its members and advancing the field.

 

Will EnglishUSA’s programs and events continue as planned?

Yes. All programs, including conferences, professional development offerings, and member engagement activities, will continue as planned.

 

How/When will a new Executive Director be selected?

The EnglishUSA Board of Directors will lead a thoughtful and structured process to determine future leadership.  We are currently working with an external consultant on the transition process; additional information will be shared as the process moves forward.

 

How is the Board supporting this transition?

The Board is actively engaged in guiding the transition process to ensure continuity, stability, and a strong path forward for the organization.  Cheryl’s thoughtful timing allows for the incoming Board members (starting July 1) to be a part of this important process.

 

What is Cheryl’s role during the transition?

Cheryl will continue to lead EnglishUSA’s operations, programs, and strategic priorities through the end of the year while supporting the transition process.
