English Language Institute at The University of Alabama

The University of Alabama is a beautiful, public university with more than 100 bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. The university is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, an inexpensive and safe city of 100,000 people. It has been named the most livable city in America and one of the best college towns. Tuscaloosa has a warm and sunny climate. Students have free access to all the benefits of a university with over 40,000 students including sporting events, gyms, libraries, career center, writing center, health center, and many student clubs and activities.

The English Language Institute (ELI) at The University of Alabama is an affordable intensive English program for recent graduates or career employees wanting to improve their English skills. The five levels of English include high elementary, low/high intermediate, and low/high advanced. Students will improve their reading/writing, speaking/listening, and grammar skills. The program is accredited, and all instructors have master’s degrees.

Students can participate in a free speaking course with university students twice a week to gain practice with native speakers and request a language partner for individual practice. The ELI offers free seminars, tutoring, and activities each session. Scholarships are also available.
