Executive Director, ACCET

Res Helfer is the Executive Director of ACCET and brings nearly 30 years of experience in accredited education and accreditation. His ACCET journey began as a student at an ACCET-accredited language school and has included roles as an instructor, school owner, Commissioner, Commission Chair, and ACCET staff member, giving him a unique perspective on accreditation from virtually every angle.

Throughout his career, Res has worked closely with Intensive English Programs and is passionate about supporting institutions that serve international students. He particularly enjoys visiting ACCET-accredited schools, learning directly from educators and administrators, and building partnerships that promote quality, student success, and continuous improvement. He is also leading ACCET's efforts to modernize accreditation through technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
