The mission officially launches in Porto Alegre, where the EnglishUSA delegation will participate in coordinated school visits, counselor briefings, and a large-scale student fair designed to connect U.S. English language programs with Brazilian students and families exploring study options in the United States. Throughout the mission, U.S. Commercial Service teams on the ground are facilitating targeted networking receptions, structured one-on-one meetings, and market briefings with vetted education agents, academic institutions, and business partners.

In Campinas and São José dos Campos, the delegation will engage with regional education stakeholders through U.S. Commercial Service–organized networking breakfasts, mini-fairs, and institutional visits, highlighting U.S. English language programs as a critical on-ramp to broader U.S. higher education and workforce pathways. The mission concludes in São Paulo with participation in the flagship student fair and counselor programming, including engagement with U.S. Consular Affairs officials.

“This trade mission reflects EnglishUSA’s long-standing commitment to supporting our member programs through direct market access, trusted government partnerships, and high-quality student recruitment opportunities,” said [Cheryl Delk-Le Good, Executive Director, EnglishUSA]. “Brazil continues to demonstrate strong and growing demand for U.S.-based English language training, and this mission allows our members to engage meaningfully across multiple regions in a single, coordinated effort.”

This collaboration with the U.S. Commercial Service is part of a broader set of initiatives under EnglishUSA’s f-five-year cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration’s Market Development Cooperator Program (MDCP). The MDCP-funded project, Promoting and Supporting English Language Programs (PASELS), focuses on strengthening recruitment pipelines from Latin America and raising awareness of U.S. English language programs as a gateway to academic and professional success in the United States. EnglishUSA received MDCP funding in October 2022, supporting sustained engagement in priority markets, including Brazil.

According to EnglishUSA data and national enrollment trends, Latin America remains a critical region for U.S. English language programs. Brazil, alongside other key sending countries in the region, continues to show strong interest across intensive English, pathway, and short-term English language offerings. Through this trade mission, EnglishUSA member programs will engage with hundreds of prospective students, guidance counselors, agents, business institutional partners who are actively seeking U.S. study opportunities.
