Market Diversification Tool

Webinar held November 2023

The International Trade Administration’s new Market Diversification Tool for International Education can help you identify global trends about which countries international students are coming from, which states they study in, and the overall value of U.S. education services provided to students from a country or region.

The tool is user-friendly and flexible, allowing you to tailor the search to fit your needs. It brings together data on things like U.S. exports, foreign policies and regulations, flows of students, and visa information from six publicly available databases. It allows you to quickly identify trends within the international education market and explore data that would otherwise be difficult to access and interpret. If you want to conduct further analysis on your own, you can export data to a simple spreadsheet or print a summary report.

Taking the Fear Out of ChatGPT

Webinar held May 2023

Afraid of how ChatGPT impacts classroom teaching and learning? At this webinar we had several EnglishUSA members across the country share some strategies that they have used to incorporate the technology into classroom activities. While there is reason to be cautious, we discussed the opportunity to see how ChatGPT could be used as a tool to teach academic writing, reading, and critical thinking skills with examples from colleagues in post-secondary English language teaching.

Facilitators:
Marta Halaczkiewicz, PhD, Director, IELI, Utah State University
Jeff McIlvenna, Associate Director of Academics, ELI, Pace University
