This session will showcase an AI literacy course designed for multilingual learners in academic English contexts. The session highlights how students learned to use generative AI ethically for academic purposes, with a focus on effective prompting as both a linguistic skill and a framework for working with AI as a learning partner. Students explored multiple AI and educational tools to support different language skills and how to discern which tools and approaches best support learning goals. The course focused on applying principles of personalized learning, such as critical thinking, through student-designed bots. Practical takeaways to help ESL/EFL teachers integrate AI literacy into their classrooms will be shared.
