Host an Exchange for International English as a Foreign Language Educators

The U.S. Department of State Office of English Language Programs invites applications from U.S. universities and colleges to host two-week in-person academic exchanges on 21st Century Skills in the English Language Classroom. This program will bring together 26 international English as a Foreign Language (EFL) professionals including teachers, teacher trainers, and curriculum or content developers in secondary and higher education settings. 

The exchange aims to strengthen participants’ ability to integrate 21st Century Skills into English language instruction.  It is designed to deepen participants’ understanding of the significance of 21st Century Skills while equipping them with practical strategies to effectively integrate these skills into their teaching practice. 

In addition, the exchange should include cultural excursions to enhance the participants’ first-hand knowledge of U.S. culture and history related to exchange theme and activities aim to showcase America’s rich cultural heritage and promote intercultural dialogue that reflection on America250 observances.

Through the program, participants will explore frameworks for incorporating collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking into English language teaching. This exchange program will take place March 7-22, 2026.
